Outreach Ministries
Our goal is to strategically equip, educate and mobilize our people to provide prayer and resources to effectively change the loss of our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ specifically in the city of Birmingham. We will serve Christ through ministry projects using head, hand and heart. This is an excellent opportunity for members who may not be connected to a ministry. Ministry opportunities will occur throughout the year.
We will accomplish this mission by systematically sharing the gospel in Jerusalem (Birmingham-Metro Area), Judea (Alabama/Gee’s Bend), Samaria (United States/Seeker Springs), and the Ends of the Earth (Outside of the USA).
The mission of the Evangelism Nation of the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church seeks to Go, Love, and Serve—strategically equipping, educating, and mobilizing believers to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost, beginning in the city of Birmingham and extending to the ends of the earth.
We serve Christ through ministry projects that engage the head, hand, and heart, offering meaningful opportunities for every member to participate—especially those not yet connected to a ministry. These outreach efforts occur throughout the year, creating space for transformation, connection, and impact.
Our vision is to show the love of Christ to “the least of these” and to those far from God, reaching the world for Christ by starting in our own community. We accomplish this mission by systematically sharing the Gospel in:
- Jerusalem – Birmingham Metro Area
- Judea – Alabama, including Gee’s Bend
- Samaria – United States, including Seeker Springs
- Ends of the Earth – International missions beyond the U.S.

Jerusalem Ministries are:
- Angels of Compassion Nursing Home Ministry
- We are a ministry dedicated to serving. share the love of Jesus Christ and to help bring comfort, friendship and love to the residents in nursing homes: We will carry out this by visiting two local facilities, Arabella Facility and Arlington Rehab.
- We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We conduct monthly visits to Arlington & West Hills Rehab, 2nd Saturday of each month.

- We Care Homeless Ministry
- Our mission is to minister to the homeless, hungry and hurting people through monthly trips to Linn Park. Purpose is to encourage, equip and support those called by God to witness and serve throughout the community.
- We meet as needed. We visit Linn Park the 3rd Saturday of each month.
- The ministry is led by Jessie Tyson. She can be reached at jessietyson@att.net.
- Veterans Ministry
- We support, equip, honor and educate Veteran’s and their families.
- This ministry is led by Vincent Simmons. He can be reached at simm8000@charter.net
- Intercessory Prayer Ministry
- We are a permanent team of Intercessors who make consistent, planned and purposeful Prayers to God our Father on behalf of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, the city, the community and the country. We spiritually support and uphold Greater Shiloh’s functions on all levels, all systems and the Pastor.
- OUR BELIEF: – Every child of God MUST PRAY and is OBLIGATED TO INTERCEDE for others, just like Jesus and the Holy Spirit do for us 24/7 today. “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” James 5:16; “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew 5:44
- VISION: -GSMBC grows into a House of Prayer where EVERYONE prays boldly and daily using the ACTS model, Acknowledging God for who HE is, Confession of our Sins, Thanking God for all HIS Blessings, and offering up Supplications for others, our families, the church needs, and ourselves.
- MISSION: –The IPM will help develop bold and courageous intercessors and promote prayer in Jesus’ name as the catalyst which sustains our relationship with God.

- Weekly Prayer Meeting every Thursday @ 5:30 p.m. and Monday Morning Prayer Call at 6:00 a.m.
- Love Ye One Another/Jail Ministry

Serving with our missionary partner, the Spirit of Luke, we offer missionary opportunities in the Black Belt of Alabama in Gee’s Bend.

Annual Gee's Bend Mission Trip
Join us for our annual Gee’s Bend Mission Trip—a powerful opportunity to care for and share the love of Jesus with the residents of Gee’s Bend. In partnership with our missionary allies, you’ll have the chance to serve in meaningful ways that bless the community and deepen your walk with Christ. Whether you come solo or bring your whole family, this one-day mission experience is open to all.

Outside Alabama/Eros, Louisiana
Samaria Team
High school teens and young adults—this is your invitation to a life-changing experience. Join us for a weeklong day camp where we’ll serve the children of Parkview Housing Community and learn what it truly means to be on mission for Jesus.
Through games, worship, teaching, and hands-on service, you’ll grow in faith, leadership, and love. This is more than a trip—it’s a calling.
We will have 4 training sessions prior to the trip. The trip is scheduled for July 6-10, 2026.
Seeker Springs Youth Mission Trip
Serving with our missionary partner at Seeker Springs in Eros, La, we offer two missionary opportunities to conduct our mission outside the state of Alabama.
Seeker Springs Annual Foster Sibling Camp, 2025
Seeker Springs Annual Foster Sibling Camp, December 5th-7th, 2025. Join us as with share the love of Jesus with sibling in foster care in Eros, La. Registration will begin in September 2025.
